Our story

Something my child loved, shared with yours.

Hello

Hajimari Garden is a small playground for children who are just starting to use a computer. “Hajimari” means “beginning” in Japanese.

Why I made it

My child (age 5) loves watching videos on a tablet or phone. That can be a happy time too. But I hoped they would also learn to use a computer, and grow into someone who can find what they want to do, and then do it on their own. That wish is how this site began.

When I looked around, I found few things a child would actually want to play, and many practice sites were so full of ads that I couldn’t leave my child alone with them. So I decided to make one myself.

What matters to us

  • Learning through play. Children are experts at learning while they play. It shouldn’t feel like studying. Skills should just quietly appear.
  • A safe place to play. There are no ads on the game screen, and no sign-up is needed.
  • Learning from children. I believe children already hold the answers. I watch how they play and keep improving the site, little by little.

What’s next

Right now there are games for clicking, double-clicking, dragging and scrolling. They will keep getting more fun and more beautiful.

Further ahead: shaping things in 3D, making real objects with a 3D printer, building apps with AI. I’d be happy if this could be the very first step toward the skills of the years to come.

Shared with you

I made this site to share something my own child enjoyed. If your child has fun with it, that would make me very happy. If you like it, please tell your friends and family.

May every child be able to make their own wishes and dreams come true with their own hands. I hope this can help, even a little.
